RCVS Fellowship Day – Panel Discussion

27th November 2025, One Great George Street, London

Fellowship Day takes place once a year and is an opportunity for Fellows to meet and exchange their views and ideas as well as network with colleagues. It is also the day upon which new Fellows are formally welcomed to the learned society.

The event will see new and existing RCVS Fellows come together for a day of engaging scientific debate, showcasing the breadth and depth of veterinary knowledge.

At this years event, BARTA will be facilitating a workshop Session session one: Immediate care, lasting legacy – Fellows shaping the frontline of animal emergency response

Experts Adam Mugford FRCVS, Jim Green and Neil Rae  will explore how veterinary guidance can transform outcomes in emergency situations. The session will highlight the real financial and welfare impacts when clear protocols are missing, and invite attendees to brainstorm practical Incident Cards for small animals. Attendees will also get an insight into the Fire Service Immediate Emergency concept kit, and how these tools can support Blue Light services on the front line.

In 2023 BARTA received an RCVS Knowledge Award. Highly Commended, under the “”Ones to Watch” criteria, citing the provision of evidence-based guidelines and training for emergency first responders to provide pre-veterinary immediate care and developing a handover checklist to use when handing over to veterinary professionals.
