RCVS Fellows Day

This year we will be attending the RCVS Fellows Day. This is to promote completion earlier this year of the new Animal Responder Handbook. Fellows of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons provided the guidance to support large animal veterinary surgeons in providing initial treatment for companion animals.

The currrent project that will hopefully be completed by the time we go, is a guide for Fire and REscue Services on Pre-Veterinray Immediate Emergency Care. In 2027 we are going to be looking at a new vet responder course specifically for livestock.

BARTA’s Jim Green has been recognised this year, as an Honorary Associate by the RCVS in their annual awards. This is an amazing testament to years of developing relationships between emergency services and the veterinary profession to improve outcomes for people and animals.
